Concerts in November

During November Camouflage will perform in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and in South and Central America. The dates are:
Nov 1, 2007 Litvinov (Czech Republic) (previously schedule in Prag), Nov 2, 2007 Bratislava (Slovakia), Nov 3, 2007 Kosice (Slovakia), Nov 23, 2007 Lima (Peru), Nov 24, 2007 Santiago (Chile), Nov 25, 2007 Buenos Aires (Argentina), Nov 27, 2007 Rosaria (Argentina), and on Nov 29, 2007 Mexico City. The three shows in the Czech Republic and Slovakia will be performed by Marcus, Heiko, Oli and Jochen Schmalbach (drums). For the shows in South and Central America Oliver Kreyssig will unfortunately not be able to attend due to personal reasons. The live band for these shows will consist of Marcus (vocals), Heiko (synthesizer & computer) and Volker Hinkel (guitar). Since live drums will not be part of these shows the songs will be performed in a more electronic arrangement. The setlist will be somewhat reworked and will include some surprises.

Archive #01 to be released in November

During November of this year a CD containing rare tracks from Camouflage will be released with the title "Archive #01". This will be a double disc compilation of rare and previously unreleased remixes, b-sides and demo versions. The extensive booklet to the release will include rare and unseen photos of Camouflage as well as extensive liner notes to each of the tracks included on the CDs. The selection of the 26 tracks included in this first part of the Archive Series has been finalized and will be announced shortly.

"The Pleasure Remains" Remix included on upcoming sampler

The double CD sampler "Extended Electronics Vol. 2" is scheduled for
release on September 28, 2007. This sampler will include "The Pleasure Remains" Camouflage vs Wet fingers - Club Version and 25 other remixes of bands including Covenant, Ladytron and Melotron. The remix of "The Pleasure Remains" has previously only been available on the polish promotional CD single.

Video Podcast with Heiko Maile at MusoTalk.de

Alexander Buck and Non Eric of MusoTalk visited Heiko Maile in his
Berlin Studio for a video interview. Among other things Heiko shows how he is working with the audio tracks for the new Camouflage Live DVD and he describes his work process in the studio. The Video Podcast is available in two parts; both are now online and can be found at www.musotalk.de (This video interview is conducted in German).

Camouflage "E-Set" Details

Due to schedule conflicts, Oliver Kreyssig will unfortunately not be
able to participate in the concerts in South and Central America. As a result Marcus and Heiko have decided to establish an alternative
approach for performances by the band. This alternative approach will be known as an "E-Set" with Marcus (vocals), Heiko (synthesizer & computer) and Volker Hinkel (guitar). In order to avoid confusion with the presenters of the various events, specific graphics have been prepared to provide consistent advertising for the events - "an electronic evening with marcus meyn // heiko maile".
Since there will not be live drums performed during these concerts, the arrangements will be considerably more electronic. The set list will also be revised and will include some surprises. It is unclear at this time whether the "E-Set" will also be presented in other countries, but this remains a possibility.

News from Camouflage

It has been a while now since we last posted anything here, but we too have needed a little time for ourselves. How do things stand? Micha Schröck has finished his studies while Heiko followed the Way of St. James. Meanwhile Marcus has been making very good progress with his first solo album and Oli is looking forward to an exciting time - he will be a father for the second time!
You can see that a few things have been happening. But for you it may indeed be much more interesting to note the fact that we are working full speed ahead to finish the DVD. Unfortunately this is requiring much more time than we had anticipated. For this reason we cannot be sure just when it will be released.
The long wait will indeed be rewarded - in addition to the recording of the "Relocated Tour" the DVD will feature many extras such as a one-hour special about our Russia Tour 2006. Parallel to all of this we have been working with Universal Music on an album of rare tracks that is to be titled "Archives #1" and which will with surety be released this year - this is something to be excited about!
Live performances this year are limited partly due to Oli's news. This has led us to the idea of an "electronic set" which Heiko and Marcus have developed and which makes it feasible to play a few concerts outside of Germany...
Things are moving along - even when they appear to be moving slowly. It is exciting and we will let you know of new developments!

Winner of the "Suspicious Love" Remix Competition

Camouflage were quite overwhelmed at the enormous response and the quality of the remixes that were submitted for the competition. More than 400 entries were carefully evaluated and rated. Heiko, Marcus and Oli wish to thank everyone who participated for their creative efforts. At www.digitalmusician.net you will find the names of the winners, and the best remixes are available for listening with commentary from the band.

Camouflage as guests on the "Best of Formel Eins - Die Show"

At 8:15pm (UTC/GMT) on Monday, January 29, 2007 the German TV broadcaster "Kabel Eins" will air the German cult music program "Formel Eins" in a special format - with top acts from the 80s live on stage! In addition to great memories, performances on Formel Eins, Interview excerpts and video clips, 12 artists and groups will perform their greatest hits on stage. Some of the bands/artists that will be performing include OMD (with their original lineup) performing "Dreaming", Marc Almond performing "Tainted Love", Icehouse with their hit "Hey Little Girl" and more!
Camouflage will perform "Love is a Shield" and "Motif Sky", the first
single from the current album! Further information about Formel Eins is available at www.kabeleins.de (german language only).
