Film score for "Die Welle" (The Wave) composed by Heiko Maile
The new film drama titled "Die Welle" from director Dennis Gansel with Jürgen Vogel in the leading role is scheduled to open in German theaters on March 13, 2008. The world premier of the film took place recently at this year's Sundance Film Festival in the USA. The film is based on the novel "The Wave" from 1981 which described an actual experiment at Cubberly High School in Palo Alto, California in 1968. Dennis Gansel has transposed this experiment into the current Germany where a high school teacher engages his students in an experiment to emphasize the nature of dictatorial rule and the following of the masses. The music to the film was composed by Heiko Maile in his Stuttgart studio "Saal 3". A first sample of the film music is available at Heiko's Myspace page.
